Nimiety hits 4 feet. The longest recorded arc thus far has been 58" at an input power of ~750W (no pictures of this were captured, unfortunately).

Control electronics. The old PLL board (using the CD4046's phase comparator II) is visible in the upper left. This board needs revising, and, as such, was not used for the higher performance runs. I do, however, believe this technology can be revised to a useful state in the future.
